I am not up on the latest media players. I find VLC works fine with flv files.

On your mention of VLC...that is a decent free choice for the playing of FLV (Flash) files. Other good, free choices that now handle FLV files include Winamp and Media Player Classic - Home Cinema.
Strangely enough and even though I have a very stout graphics card, I get the best rendering of FLV files and the fewest overall problems with the free version of RealPlayer. However, I caution anybody reading this that is not familiar with keeping tabs on their computer settings that RealPlayer mostly sucks hard on every other file and it will try to take over one's entire computer if one does not know how to keep it in line.
Thanks for the advice, your warnings about realplayer are very real indeed!
